Workshop HPC Methods for Engineering

Course Organizer:
I. Spisso / C. Cavazzoni

The workshop addresses challenges and opportunities of key computational methods for Engineering exploiting an efficient use of the high-end HPC infrastructures.

The workshop covers the following topics: computational fluid-dynamics, multi-physics, finite-element solver, multi-objective optimization problems, tools for seamless access to HPC resources and remote visualization.

It is expected a number of presentation between twenty and thirty of approximately 45 minutes each, showing the results, experience and forward looking trend by leading research groups, software developers, HPC experts and industrial use cases.

Particular relevance will be given to the existing opportunities related to the EU HPC ecosystem such as that offered in PRACE infrastructure or H2020 (Shape and Fortissimo).

One edition is scheduled for 2015 in English:
Target audience:

Academic and industrial researchers and practitioners working in the  Computational Engineering area which are using or planning to use high-end HPC infrastructure.

Pre-requisites:
Basic knowledge of computational methods/tools for engineering.
