Dear Users,
We kindly remind you all that the main storage area for production on Galileo is $WORK, and that all users belonging to the same project can use it for production runs and storage of their output data. The usage of this area is recommended because it offers a better performance in terms of bandwidth (12 GB/s) as compared to $CINECA_SCRATCH (3GB/s).
Shortly, a cleaning procedure for removal of files older than 1 month will be in place on the $CINECA_SCRATCH of Galileo. Therefore we strongly encourage all users to use their $WORK area for their future jobs.
We also kindly remind you that compute nodes on Galileo have 16 cores/node (instead of 12 like in the old PLX cluster) and the total allocatable memory per node is 120GB. Finally, there is no need to specify the queue name in your job scripts, but only the required time for the completion of your job (max walltime = 24:00:00)
For further info about production environment on Galileo, please have a look at our online guide: http://www.www.hpc.cineca.it/content/galileo#production
Kind regards,
User Support @ CINECA
