The 17th Call for Proposal for PRACE Project Access is now open until 2 May 2018, 10:00 CET. It is now possible to submit a proposal for PRACE under the defined guidelines, and apply for one of the supercomputers provided by 5 PRACE hosting members: BSC - Spain, CINECA - Italy (MARCONI), CSCS - Switzerland, GCS - Germany and GENCI - France.
Proposals can be based on a 12-months or a 24/36-months schedule, for Multi-year Projects.

Scientists and researchers can apply for access to PRACE resourcesIndustrial users can apply if they have their head offices or substantial R&D activity in Europe.

The PRACE 17th Call for Proposals is intended for large-scale projects of excellent scientific merit and for which a significant European added-value and major impact at International level  is anticipated.

Access to PRACE resources is for open R&D research purposes and is free of chargeThe typical size of the projects submitted to PRACE is from 15 to 100 millions of core hours per year but more is also possible.

Important dates:

  • Opening date: 7/03/2018
  • Closing date: 2/05/2018 10:00 CET
  • Applicants’ reply to reviews: July 2018
  • Communication of allocation decision: End of September 2018
  • Allocation period for awarded proposals: 02/10/2018 – 01/10/2019
