ICTP ICTS, Cineca and CNR/IOM organize an open event on scientific data management approaches, data analysis and tools.

Due to the increasing usage of compute simulation, the management of large amounts of scientific data has become a challenge. The planning for deploying and maintaining IT infrastructures capable to host hundreds of Terabytes, or even Petabytes, of scientific data is inescapable toward sustainable science production.

However, to succeed in this process both the scientific needs and the challenges of building and running such infrastructures must work in strict cooperation.

The purpose of this open meeting  is bringing  together scientists and stakeholders to analyze the needs of the scientific communities and presenting the state of the art of current solutions from local-site, to national and European scale. Visions of further developments will also be discussed.
