On April 8, the EU-Morocco Digital Dialogue was launched in Marrakech, a strategic initiative to strengthen cooperation between the European Union and Morocco on digital technologies, data, and artificial intelligence.

The initiative, launched by Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, and Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition of Morocco, was marked by the signing of a letter of intent between Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Morocco and four European supercomputing centres, BSC, CINECA, GENCI, and LUMI, which host the main European AI Factories.

Italy was represented by CINECA, the national supercomputing centre supported by the Ministry of University and Research.

The agreement, signed by HPC Director Gabriella Scipione, establishes CINECA’s contribution to the development of digital infrastructures in Morocco. Leveraging its expertise in high-performance computing and artificial intelligence, the Consortium participates in building a shared ecosystem for research and innovation.
