PRACE PCP “Whole System Design for Energy Efficient HPC”

 
CINECA, PRACE Hosting Member for Italy, is pleased to announce that five proposals have been awarded the contracts for the Phase I of the PRACE 3IP pre-commercial procurement.

The successful bidders are:

• BULL SAS
• E4 Computer Engineering SpA
• EUROTECH SpA
• MEGWARE Computer Vertrieb und Services GmBH
• Maxeler Technologies Limited. 

These five company entered the first phase of the pre-commercial procurement process that will end in January 2015.

About PRACE PCP “Whole System Design for Energy Efficient HPC”:

In the context of the Call N° 10 – FP7-INFRASTRUCTURES-2012-1 of the Framework Programme in agreement with the European Commission’s Policy concerning HPC and as a means for PRACE to take a leading position in the provision of HPC High end systems and innovative technology, a group of PRACE Project 3IP Partners has agreed that a joint HPC Pre-Commercial Procurement pilot will be conducted for a first time by a multi-country, multi-partner consortium within the PRACE 3rd Implementation Phase project PRACE-3IP.

This PCP will be a multi-country and multi-partner joint effort, implemented by a consortium composed of several partners of PRACE (CINECA (Italy) acting as the Procuring Entity; CSC (Finland); EPCC (UK); JSC (Germany); and GENCI (France)) in the context of PRACE’s 3rd Implementation Project (PRACE-3IP) together with PRACE AISBL as observer and advisory entity.

The maximum budget allocated for the whole of the PCP is € 9,000,000.00 (nine million Euro), excluding VAT.
