Season’s Greetings

For the seasons greetings of this year Cineca has symbolically chosen, as a sign of resilience and rebirth, the Exscalate4Cov project. This is a project funded by the European Commission, led by Dompè Farmaceutici, which involves 18 European partners of excellence in the field of drug design. The project aims to develop a persistent drug repurposing platform to combat pandemics and in particular to identify effective antiviral therapies against Covid-19. With screening methods performed with animal and human models, the project combines digital screening of large databases containing millions of active compounds, using numerical docking methods between potential drug molecules and viral proteins, performed on some of the most powerful supercomputers in the world, such as the Marconi100 of Cineca.
