G100: slowdowns on login nodes

Dear Users,
we are frequently experiencing slowdowns on the login nodes of G100 at the login/logout and when using the text editor applications, in the opening and saving phases (e.g. vim). More in general, all applications which access the home filesystem may be affected, as well as compilation activities. We suggest the use of $WORK when compiling your codes.
Our system administrators are working to ensure a more consistent environment.
