- Leonardo Maintenance Update –...
Dear Users,
The main phase of Leonardo’s scheduled maintenance, which required a complete system outage, has been successfully completed, and the cluster has now been returned to production service.
During the outage window, the core components of the System Management Software Suite (SMCX) and the Lustre EXAScaler software and firmware stack were upgraded. Please note that, to restore full access to the $SCRATCH and $FAST filesystem, the DataMovers were restarted. As a result, any data transfer processes that were in progress at the time were interrupted.
As previously communicated, a limited number of final activities are still required to complete the SMCX upgrade. These activities may involve temporary downtime of critical services and will continue through August 14.
Please note that the system software stack (operating system, drivers, and system libraries) and the user software stack (compilers, libraries, applications, and development tools) remain unchanged. A new software environment will be built and deployed during a future standard maintenance window, to be scheduled after the summer period. Further details and timelines will be communicated in upcoming announcements.
Best regards,
