  4. Pitagora: maintenance completed

Dear Users,

We are pleased to inform you that the scheduled maintenance has been successfully completed and Pitagora is now fully operational.

The Booster nodes and GPU login nodes (alias: login-boost.pitagora.cineca.it) have been patched to address the recent GPU driver vulnerability and have been fully reinstalled. Additionally, login06-ext.pitagora.cineca.it is now back in production.

Please note that due to the reinstallation, SSH host fingerprints have changed. You may encounter a “REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION ERROR” when logging in. If so, please follow the procedure described in the FAQs to update your known hosts.

The new node images for both Booster and DCGP nodes also include a fix for the security vulnerability related to the ptrace mechanism. As a result, the original scope level has been restored, and all debugging and profiling tools relying on ptrace are now fully functional again.

Best regards,

HPC User Support @ CINECA
