  4. Temporary Disablement of Xorg...

Dear users,

Due to a recently identified vulnerability, we have temporarily disabled Xorg as a mitigation measure. This will remain in effect until the necessary patches are applied to the GPU nodes.

For users of the RCM tool on Leonardo and G100:

  • You can continue using RCM for login nodes and compute nodes (Leonardo/G100) by selecting the SSH or SLURM scheduler.
  • However, OpenGL applications will not function in:
    • SLURM GPU sessions
    • Interactive sessions on:
      • rcm.g100.cineca.it
      • rcm.leonardo.cineca.it

For istance, commands such as:

vglrun <exe_opengl>

will not work, as they depend on Xorg.

For g100 we will not restore Xorg, while for Leonardo we will notify you as soon as the patch is applied and Xorg reactivated.

We apologize for the inconvenient,

HPC User Support @ Cineca
