- Leonardo: profile switching for...
Dear users,
the updated software stack available under profile/candidate has been switched to base or domain profile and therefore it’s no longer necessary to load the profile candidate to use it.
You can find all the info about the updated software stack in the previous HPC-news: https://www.hpc.cineca.it/newsletter/leonardo-software-stack-update-2/.
While we strongly recommend to specify in your script the version of the software for any module you want to load, a default version is defined for each package and now it keeps referring to the old version. Starting from the next maintenance, which we’ll inform you about, the default version will refer to the new software. From that moment, the old stack will no longer be visible under base or domain profile through “module” command and anyone who wants to continue using it must only load the needed module specifying its version.
Finally, you’ll be able to inspect the complete old software stack through “modmap -c archive” command or a specific old module with “modmap -m <module>” command. For suggestions on how to use properly the updated software stack, please refer to our web guide https://docs.hpc.cineca.it/hpc/hpc_enviroment.html.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the use of the new software stack.
Best regards,
