  4. ARCTUS: AI PREDICTION MODELS...

ARCTUS is an experiment meant to kickstart a traditional HVAC SME’s digital transformation. Its modular design will allow for help and assistance with two real-world situations. The engineers will be taught in approaches that can reveal the potential hidden in data, with the goal of developing new services. Furthermore, ARCTUS will enable the development of AI models predicting failures and forecasting energy use in commercial RCUs.

Start date: 05/01/2022

Duration in months: 9

Problem Description

The use-case aims to introduce consolidated data-based methodologies and train HVAC engineers, improving skills and increasing the potential for innovation. In addition, the experiment aims to develop artificial intelligence models designed to predict imminent malfunctions and predict energy consumption in commercial environments

Goals

New services

Challenges

The main challenge of this experiment is the creation of AI models to predict upcoming malfunctions and forecast energy consumption

Innovation results

ARCTUS supports two innovations: the first is targeted on the training of HVAC experts on technologies and applications of data-driven methods, and the development of predictive models. The second innovation focuses on the development of two predictive models for commercial refrigeration units, which will lead to a marketable service. Currently, such application is commercially non-existing, therefore it has the potential to create an innovative product, as well as new knowledge.
