Ferrone Alfonso

Alfonso holds a master's degree in Physics of the Earth System from the University of Bologna and a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from EPFL. After studying precipitation in Antarctica using weather radars, he worked at EPFL and MeteoSwiss on the retrieval of hail distributions. His experience in operational meteorology led him to Arpae Emilia-Romagna and the GLORI4DE project. In 2025, he started working at Cineca as a HPC Data Engineer.
