Ceppi Simone
After graduating in Physics, he spent his PhD working on planet and stellar formation by numerical and analytical means. Taking advance of numerical hydrodynamical simulations, he investigated the dynamics of accretion discs orbiting multiple stellar systems. During his work, he contributed to the development of a state-of-the-art Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics code widespread in the stellar astrophysics community (PHANTOM) and wrote analysis tools used in scientific publications. In his publications (presented at several international conferences) he leveraged numerical hydrodynamics, Monte Carlo methods and numerical radiative transfer to explore the research field. The need for computational power to run computationally demanding simulations pushed him towards High Performance Computing (MPI, OpenMP and CUDA).
