CHEESE-2P

Center of Excellence for Exascale Supercomputing in Solid Earth – Second Phase

image

The EU-funded ChEESE-2P project will prepare 11 community flagship codes to address 12 domain-specific exascale computational challenges. Researchers will build on advances made by the first project phase, which addressed scientific and technical computational challenges in moving existing systems related to seismology, tsunami science, volcanology and magnetohydrodynamics to the exascale. Researchers will further develop these codes and design new ones to address two additional areas: geodynamics and glacier hazards. The new codes will be optimised in terms of scalability, deployment and containerisation. These should help support the private and public sectors in risk prediction and management.

General notes

ChEESE is the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Exascale in Solid Earth and aims to become a hub for HPC software within the solid earth community.
