EUROQHPC-I – EuroQHPC-Integration

image

EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (JU) has committed to advance the European supercomputing and quantum computing capabilities towards a world leading hybrid HPC-QC infrastructure for open research and development (R&D). As part of this deployment, it has selected six Hosting Entities (HEs) to host and operate its first Quantum Computers, relying on complementary technologies, that will be coupled with co-localized supercomputers.
As part of their applications to the EUROHPC-2022-CEI-QC-01 call, the six Hosting Entities have gathered partners throughout Europe, who would bring their expertise to the HPC-QC integration tasks.

In the interest of establishing a harmonized user experience between the six federated HPC-QC systems, EuroHPC is now inviting all of these partners to find synergies between their integration strategies and to collaborate.

This proposal aims at exposing and fostering the axes of harmonization and collaboration between the different initial consortia.

These will include setting up a joint Technical Support Team (TST) forum, to support potential users of these new hybrid systems in their adoption of the technology, the development of common applications and benchmarks suites, to validate the HPC-QC integration across all systems. A global coordination effort between the Hosting Entities will also favor the exchange of best practices in terms of HPC-QC integration to ultimately push joint European standards.
