The ‘NET—Scienza Insieme’ project is sponsored by the European Commission as part of the European Researchers’ Night initiative. Celebrated across Europe every year on the last Friday of September, this initiative is an opportunity to showcase the fascinating world of scientific research with researchers and highlight its vital role in everyday life.

General Notes

The NET project involves participation from the leading public research organizations and universities in Italy. CNR coordinates it with the following partners: Cineca, Enea, Inaf, Infn, Ingv, Ispra, ‘Tor Vergata’ University of Rome, Sapienza University of Rome, University of Tuscia, the Uninettuno International Telematic University, Cref, and Iss.

The project offers a broad audience the opportunity to experience science side by side in workshops, conferences, scientific talks, lab tours, exhibitions, and hands-on experiments

The project’s core mission is to promote scientific literacy and foster dialogue between researchers and the broader community. In doing so, it plays a crucial role in demystifying scientific work, empowering the public with knowledge, and encouraging young people to pursue careers in science and research.

During the European Researchers’ Night, CINECA and all partners participate in night-long events where visitors can meet scientists, discover cutting-edge research projects, and experience the impact of science and innovation on society. Through these activities, the project underscores the importance of scientific collaboration and strengthens the connection between research and society.
